Cardiff Castle
Located right in the city centre, this is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Wales. The site’s history dates back more than 2,000 years, and today the visitors can experience film and multimedia exhibits, walk around the battlements and learn more about the daily life of a Welsh soldier in days past.
Doctor Who Experience
Sci-fi fans won’t want to miss this one – it’s an interactive journey through time and space where visitors play the role of assistant in one of the Doctor’s adventures! After the experience is over, fans can take a look at a collection of artefacts and costumes from the series, meet the Cybermen, Judoon and Scarecrows, and much more.
Waterloo Gardens Teahouse
If you’re gasping for a cuppa in the middle of the city, this is the place to go – it’s stocked up with 50 varieties of tea and coffee, delicious baking and local artworks. The Teahouse has quite a cult following among Cardiff’s bohemian residents – it’s the perfect place to rest and regroup on a day’s shopping trip.
Cardiff International White Water Centre
Yearning for a bit of adventure? Try your hand on the rapids at this incredible watersports centre, which offers rafting, hydrospeeding and kayaks. The less experienced can take a few lessons before plunging into the white water, or even go gorge walking or surfing with one of the off-site activity packages.
National Museum Cardiff
A fantastic collection in beautiful surroundings, the National Museum is a showcase of archaeology, geology, art and natural history. Everything from dinosaurs and Bronze Age weapons to classic Impressionist paintings and the story of Wales itself is here, and there’s something people of all ages can enjoy. Best of all, admission is free!
